Quartet is one of the most popular whiteboard manufacturers and they make products for a wide variety of applications. Their Standard Whiteboards are some of their more basic products and they are good for occasional and personal use. Here is a review of these products, including a look at how well they erase, what frames are available, and accessories they come with. Read on and discover if one of these products is what you ve been looking for whether you need one for your home office or your cubicle at work.

Strengths:

* These products come in sizes that range from 2 x 1.5 to 8 x 4 . Several different frames are available including classic oak, aluminum, and plastic. The plastic frame has rounded corners for a contemporary look, although all three frames will beautifully complement your surroundings.

* Quartet whiteboards are easy to install. They come with a mounting system that will enable you to get your board up on the wall in a matter of minutes. The mounting system allows you to place the board either vertically or horizontally according to your preferences.

* The surfaces of these whiteboards are very smooth and made from melamine. They erase beautifully and you can use Quartet cleaning solution when it s time to clean.

* Each whiteboard comes with an accessory tray that attaches to the bottom of the board. A Quartet dry erase marker is included as well. (You ll need to supply your own eraser, alas.)

* These products are reasonably priced, so even if you re on a budget, you ll probably still be able to afford one. Also, each one comes with a 100 satisfaction guarantee so you re more than likely to love your new whiteboard.

Weaknesses:

* These items do not have a magnetic surface, so if you want to pin up documents, you ll have to invest in a bulletin board if you don t already have one.

* Melamine isn t the most durable whiteboard surface. It scratches easily and it will require regular cleaning so you don t wind up with a stained board. Cleaning it regularly will definitely extend the life of the board but this isn t the one to get if you need something heavy duty that can withstand years of use. If that s what you need, consider a board with a porcelain surface. Quartet makes several porcelain boards you can choose from.

* The surface isn t imprinted with straight lines or a grid pattern like some higher end boards. This means your handwriting might be all over the place, especially after extended use.

Overall, Quartet Standard Whiteboards are good if you need such a device for personal use at home or are looking for one for infrequent use in the office. It s great that it comes in several different sizes and that there are different frame options. Installation is easy as well and shouldn t take too long, even if you ve never done it before. So if you need a basic board for occasional use, one of these products would be a good choice...especially if you re watching your budget.
